Telehealth

At Shoulder Elbow Hand, we are pleased to offer an integrated clinical/Telehealth service.  This means we can continue to assess, diagnose, educate, treat and deliver customised exercise programs specific to the needs of our patient, whether in the clinic or via a phone or device.  We use a well recognised Telehealth platform called "Coviu".  Essentially all you need is a smartphone, home computer or device and access to email, and we can continue to help you navigate through your rehabilitation.

 

How does Telehealth work?

Telehealth consultations follow the same clinical framework as an in-clinic appointment. Whether you are a new or existing patient, we will develop an understanding of your current situation through subjective and objective assessments, tailor specific exercises and management strategies for your condition, educate you on the best way to manage your condition going forward and review your progress as clinically indicated.

Telehealth - step by step

1. Call our rooms on 8356 8385, or speak to your Shoulder Elbow Hand therapist at your next appointment to schedule a Telehealth consultation

2. Once we have your current email address on file, and a scheduled appointment, we will email you a link which will redirect to our Telehealth host, "Coviu".  All you need is a computer, mobile phone or device (eg iPad), and access to the internet - please see here for more detail

3. Once you have clicked on the link emailed to you, if you are a first time user, you will be asked to create a new account.  For private patients, you may also be asked to prepay for your consultation.

4. You are ready to go - you will be placed in a "virtual waiting room", and will be brought in to your consultation as soon as the therapist is able to retrieve you
